Bitcoin and Blockchain visionary Miko Matsumura

This week bitcoin hit $9000 US. If you had bought bitcoin when this podcast started, your money would have more than doubled. I didn’t. We talk about that at the end of this episode.
Miko Matsumura, holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Yale, I thought we’d compare the abstract computational neural networks of the blockchain to the brain a metaphor Natalia brought up in Episode 9.

10. Solutions to the Energy Conundrum of Mining: What Would Satoshi have done differntly? KWHcoin with Ryan Flint

Ryye N Flint.
Ryye N Flint hunting mushrooms and bringing neural network thinking to the energy conundrum with KWH

Just this week Ethereum shrugged off a serious security issue with Parity wallets, the SEC started to crack down on bounty programs for Initial Coin Offerings-munchee coin the folks we talked to in episode 7 paused their ICO.
Segwit2x was called off and the price of bitcoin hit an all time high.
Man this happens fast.

We hear a lot about the transformational potential of the blockchain, but so much of the hype is driven by greed? getting rich? nothing against that, but it’s refreshing to get a guest who’s focused on impact.

Get out your crayons, we got some coloring to do.

Today Ryan Flint tells us about Kilowatt Hour Coin.
According to him, the amount of electricity needed to computer process all of this cryptocurrency could power a small country.
Thats a lot of electricity, and if the blockchain is to live up to the hype? its got to be more efficient.

We get into the difference between proof of work, proof of stake, and then proof of cooperation.
In the first few minutes we cover mining, GPUs, ASIC chips?.
IF this is your first time listening? or are at all new to crypto please listen to episode 8 first or even better start at the beginning of coloring crypto
Ryan is working with Kilowatt Hour Coin, could this be a solution to the crypto energy conundrum?
To understand, we start by talking about the hardware required to mine cryptocurrency,

He may have missed the boat with bitcoin, but he didn’t make that same mistake with ethereum and it’s landed him in great position, recently launching Mutual Coin Fund.

7. What it’s like to launch an Initial Coin offering (ICO) with Munchee co-founder Chelsea Lam

We are painting a picture of cryptocurrency by hearing voices from a full spectrum.
Today we add color to the ICO part of our painting.

Last episode Andrew Chapin talked about the importance of governance, of gaining trust, if one is to buy altcoins- or alternative crypto currency.

We’ve heard from investors, fund managers, futurists who r buying, selling or holding onto cryptocurrency.
Our next guest is creating a currency.

We get to hear about it from Chelsea Lam, who is the co-founder of Munchee, their new cryptocurrency is called MUNtoken.

The launch of their Initial Coin Offering is happening now. If I recall from Episode 6, some things to cover are “Why is this currency necessary?”, “What problem are you solving?”, “Why is this the best solution,” or “Why is the blockchain necessary.”

Let me know what you think, on twitter @coloringcrypto and leave a question on our listener wallet

Coloring Crypto is not investment advice nor is it an endorsement of our guests or the products mentioned. Everything you hear on Coloring Crypto is intended to illuminate  cryptocurrency and the blockchain , in an artsy way. Thank you for the reviews and downloads! The numbers are growing. Go to iTunes now, if you are a fan, and give us a review.

His company launched an ICO (Initial Coin Offering), Benjacoin. The timing of this interview was no accident, we’ve learned thus far that step one to buying cryptocurrency is buy bitcoin on coinbase. I’ve had multiple listeners ask me ? well then what do I do next?
One option is to buy some Altcoins.
I’ve booked some people for upcoming episodes who are launching their own ICOs? and this opens up a whole new world. None of this is investment advice, it’s up to you learn how to evaluate individual ICOs, which leads us to the ICO Governance Foundation, an effort to bring some stability to ICOs.
